Seedorf said keeps positive

Milan midfielder Clarence Seedorf has commented on Carlo Ancelotti's Chelsea links and this season's Champions League.

After a disappointing campaign, Rossoneri tactician Ancelotti has been widely tipped to move to Stamford Bridge.

“The rumours are absolutely true!” Seedorf joked on Sky Sport Italia.

“They have been saying these things for the last four years, but he has always stayed in the end.

"We have a very good relationship. Everything that's being said today could be denied tomorrow.

"Would I join him if he went to Chelsea? I prefer to keep my feet on the ground and concentrate on what needs to be done. My experience tells me that is the right thing to do."

Milan have been forced to sit out this season's Champions League after finishing fifth in Serie A last term.

"It's difficult to stay at the top level every year, and last season Milan did not deserve to be there," Seedorf admitted.

"I think it's good because it gives us the right hunger to compete again. It's also good for great champions to go through a season like this.

"Like all European teams, Italian teams are losing to the English sides.

“It's only in the last few years that they've started to play good football there, before they only played with long balls.

"I don't think there are that many problems with Italian football, this is just a temporary phase where other teams are slightly faster, stronger, in better shape."
